Quill was an opportunity for us to pay some attention to the budding relationship between Monroe and Rosalee, aka Monrosalee as it has become affectionately known. And we thought, what better way to explore newfound love than by introducing a Wesen-specific plague that turns its victims into randy, rabid, contagious unfortunates? One of the toughest things about introducing an infectious disease was making sure it wouldn't raise a red flag in terms of the realistic implementation of quarantine, which is something we wanted to avoid. That's why the medical opinion of Dr. Harper (Sharon Sachs) was so crucial in this episode. By bringing her into the mix we were able to establish the curious nature of the disease.
