Post comments and questions for the stars!
Hi Golden Globe fans! This is "GoldenGirl" (I fashion myself more of a Rose than a Dorothy if you were wondering) and I will be coming to you LIVE this Sunday from the Beverly Hilton for all the Golden Globes gossip. I'll be roaming the red carpet before the show and wandering backstage during and after the show.
I need your help! Leave me questions for your favorite nominees and I will try to get answers! Also, if you have general questions about the event itself post them below.
I'm here for YOU (and so I can wear a fancy dress, let's be honest).
Check back Sunday starting at 3:30pm PT/6:30 ET. And don't forget to watch the LIVE STREAM of the red carpet show starting at 2:30pm PT!
Hi party people. I made it...I won't be "officially" blogging until about 3:30 -- because, let's be honest, no one important is actually here yet. :)
But, I shot some video so you can see my view from "home base" during the live streaming pre-show and the broadcast preshow. I will attempt to upload and post now. Wish me luck.
Also - I've been getting your questions. Have Paul McCartney wish someone Happy Birthday is longshot, but I will float the other questions to our cohosts in the backstage area and see what we can get!
Video upload is not my friend at the moment so I'm sticking with photos for now.
Here are some of my views..
Um, so it's starting to sprinkle here at the Beverly Hilton, which means there will be a lot of umbrellas blocking our view. I may relocate to our secondary spot on the carpet -- which may mean more time between entries, but better photos...so, is it worth it?
I think so!
Here's Mario Lopez braving the tiny amount of rain...
The photos will be plentiful, but for now I'm sticking to text entries because it's about to get crazy. The rain forced me to change locations -- now I'm literally on the red carpet, under the overhang so I will have a front row seat to all of the action. My former location (the hotel room at start of carpet) was going to be a sea of umbrellas given the current rain situation.
It's hilarious to me how many non-celebrity people are here right now. Like hundreds. And that's not counting the fans braving the bleacher seats with plastic tarps thrown over their heads.
Who do you think will be the first "real" celebrity to arrive?
hi - so if you look to the right of this blog entry you'll see the live stream from the red carpet. Julie Moran will be interviewing the celebs as they arrive for the next hour.
Then you can turn to NBC and watch the Red Carpet preshow as I run in high heels to my backstage position to get ready for the show.
It is really raining now! Bummer for the baby-fine hair people like myself. :(
So far, I've seen Michael Emerson ("Ben" from LOST) and Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family). Guess ABC told their stars to get here early! But where are the fabulous dresses??
I mean mine is fab, but no one cares. It's sort of a Sienna Miller look on a Beyonce/JLo body.
Not sure if that's good or not.
I hear the director of Coraline is coming up with Julie soon, so watch the live stream!
taken with PhotoBooth on this mac. :)
(ps: Olivia Wilde "House" just walked by, I will try to get a pic of her dress - very cool!)
BJ and Mindy say "hello!"
Chris Monteith and Chris Colfer have been spotted.
yeah, so I literally just chased down a few folks on the red carpet to get photos: Ed Helms and John Krasinsky from The Office, Lea Michele from Glee...still waiting for some film stars to show up.
Just snapped Glenn Close as she's being interviewed by somebody. And of course I had to schmooze some NBC bigwigs as well. It's rough here on the red carpet. Luckily my cold medicine is holding up.
Photos to come...and Cher rumors are flying....
Jane Lynch looks gorgeous in green and Matthew Fox is just, well gorgeous in person.
But Mike Tyson...hmmm. Guess his "supporting role" in The Hangover got him here?
It's getting a little hectic - security keeps shoving people along because we are right where the overhang starts (therefore a safe haven from rain!). Just spotted Adrian Grenier from Entourage and Neil Patrick Harris. More to come...
Not only am I on edge - there are like 5 random people crowding my space and making it very challenging to see anything or take good photos.
But I was nose-to-nose with The Edge from U2 so that was freakin' worth it! I got some pix too. Sandra Bullock and Jesse James just arrived, Quentin Tarantino is hovering, Pete Berg being interviewed a few feet away. Everyone is damp, but in good spirits!
If I can see past the umbrellas I can spot a few famous folks now and then. Mostly publicists!
here are some pix - starting with Olivia Wilde's dress, as promised!
Got a great shot of Josh & Fergie which I'll post later. Jeff Bridges is chatting with Helen Mirren right now and the cast of Precious just walked by. I spy Mariah Carey coming with Nick Cannon...
Here are some more pix - I just got George Clooney and Kate Hudson so stay tuned.
for your viewing enjoyment.
How is Ricky Gervais doing? Right now, Toni Collette is backstage clutching her Golden Globe and speaking with the press. Next she'll go back to the one-on-one rooms for interviews.
Because I had nowhere to sit or plug in, I moved from one-on-one are into the room where everyone is eating. My only hope is that there is alcohol nearby somewhere! Otherwise, I will just roam around and report back on any good tidbits.
And I'll keep uploading red carpet pix even though it's old news now!
Okay no more, that subject line is misleading. GG
Michael C Hall is doing the rounds backstage, as is Toni Collette.
I'm talking to you Nicole Kidman. I think like half these people went in a back entrance or something because of the rain.
Where was Meryl? I mean Julia braved it, c'mon! And how is it that I saw Kiera Sedgwick but missed Kevin Bacon (who just won, btw)? Granted, I was distracted by wolfs and glee clubbers.
It may be time for me to take a little stroll to find some good gossip for you.
ps: sorry if you thought we were streaming the actual show live...it was always a pre pre-show and backstage stream.
oh yeah, I'm name dropping. She seemed very thrilled to have won! (photo to come)
Here's a pick from the room I'm SUPPOSED to be in with two guys who tried to help (thanks anyway Greg & Doug):
Hopefully no fisticuffs with him and Carell at the party later. Bummer that Tina didn't win as well.
We have a page up with info on how to donate to Haiti relief, as they just mentioned in the show.
You can also:
Text "Haiti" to 90999 to instantly donate $10
Every little bit helps!
So as with the red carpet, I think celebrities are outnumbered with non-celebrities about 5 to 1 backstage. Lots of security folks. Many, many publicists. And I'm guessing the rest are crew members for the various press outlets.
I'm in the food area so there is a lot of hustle bustle and chicken. I had some fruit and I could seriously use some champagne. The beer just isn't looking good to me.
Drew Barrymore is back speaking to the press, she looks very pretty, but I like her hair down. Anyone have an opinion? Anyone even reading this?
Wandering the halls pays off! Caught Drew ducking into a hallway to make a phone call before continuing on the press circuit. I was going to take a picture, but it seemed rude.
And I did that once with Reese Witherspoon and got kind of a death stare while I was doing it. Made me feel all paparazzi. It's not a clean feeling, let me tell you.
Drew just walked past my table to go back to the one-on-ones. I'll try to sneak a less intrusive pic of the occasion presents itself. Still no champagne or I guarantee this blog would be a lot more entertaining.
I DID get a pic of Sophia Loren in the photo room -- now, I love her. She's a legend and a talent. But some people look better in the movies than they do in person. That's all I'm saying. But love her!
Also, Gerard Butler and Jenn Aniston were backstage for photos only -- no interviews. Those two definitely look as good in person as they do onscreen. Damn them!
For the guys...
Here's what Halle Berry was looking at...how terrifying! Presenters and winners come through this room first, then go talk to press (which is what we are streaming).
I love the guy. He reminds me of my Uncle Louie from Rochester, NY. A paesano all the way. Oh, and makes good movies. Leo and DeNiro are okay, but Marty - he's the guy you could have to dinner and you know it would be a good time. No awkward silences or weirdness. Just good wine, good past and...I digress. Chances are he's never coming to my house for dinner.
But how sweet that he teared up at the tribute. I will try to get a backstage shot!
so apparently, not all the stars are going back to the one-on-one rooms, per usual. And the few that are, are only stopping a select few spots and then heading back to their seats!
sidenote: can't believe The Hangover just won! that is so great! hilarious movie!
Here are cast of Mad Men leaving Access Hollywood room:
Have you liked the Golden Globes with a host? First time ever! I didn't get to see much of the actual show (ironically), but the reaction to Ricky Gervais here has been very positive.
The Glee cast is backstage talking to the press (as you can see in the stream), while our intrepid Governor is introducing an Avatar clip. People backstage are starting to disperse to go to the parties and I will be packing it up in about 10 minutes.
I'll do one more loop to see if I can find anything interesting to tell you!
Here's another pic just for fun:
Pix I never had time to upload earlier!
Haven't seen Crazy Heart yet, have any of you? I hear it's good, but that Jeff Bridges is great. At least he didn't thank his dogs...notthatthere'sanythingwrongwiththat. :)
Okay, I am party bound to help get stars to take pix for NBC.com that you will hopefully come back and see tomorrow on the site, along with all the red carpet and show highlights.
Thanks for being here -- thanks Canada guy or gal!
