Danneel Ackles stars as Sara Maxwell, an ambitious young doctor on the hunt for Mr. Right in NBC's "Friends with Benefits."
Ackles will also be seen in Screen Gems thriller "The Roommate" opposite Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly, as well as in the Screen Gems comedy "Mardi Gras" with Regina Hall and Bret Ackleson, in which she stars as a New Orleans native who meets up with a group of friends traveling the country in search of the ultimate party.
Ackles was recently seen in the CBS Films romantic comedy "The Back-up Plan" opposite Jennifer Lopez, and she also starred in the Screen Gems comedy "Fired Up" with Sarah Roemer and Molly Sims. Produced by Matthew Gross ("Across the Universe"), "Fired Up" hit theatres in March 2009. In 2008, she was seen opposite Kal Penn and John Cho in the much-anticipated sequel "Harold and Kumar: Escape to Guantanamo Bay." Ackles starred as Vanessa, the ex-girlfriend that Kumar (Penn) vows to win back. Her additional feature credits include "Extreme Movie" with Jamie Kennedy and Michael Cera and "Ten Inch Hero" opposite Clea DuVall.
After a successful recurring stint as vixen Rachel Gatina on the hit CW drama "One Tree Hill," Ackles joined the cast as a series regular for Season 4. Her "bad girl with a heart" character quickly became a fan favorite as she befriended former enemy Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush). Her other television credits include recurring roles on "JAG," "Joey," "What I Like About You," "One Life to Live" and appearances on "How I Met Your Mother," "Trust Me," "NCIS," "Charmed" and "CSI."
Ackles left her hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana and headed to Los Angeles where she immediately started working as a model and actress. She currently resides in Los Angeles.
