Tensions run high as the Panthers and Lions coaching staffs inspect the Lions' field with the high school football conference director for their Friday game. The Panthers coaches and Joe McCoy complain that the field is dangerous – potholes, shards of glass, terribly maintained surface – and a full-blown argument ensues when the Panthers suggest a neutral field elsewhere. Throughout, Coach Taylor stays conspicuously silent. The conference director stops the fight and insists it's his call to make.
