Hunter Bell is one of 13 successful designers on NBC's reality competition series "Fashion Star."

Bell, a New York City-based women's wear fashion designer, was born and raised in the small town of Florence, South Carolina, in the tradition of a true southern belle. The second of three girls, she was fortunate enough to have a mother and father who believed strongly in supporting and encouraging their daughters to find their passions and pursue their dreams. All throughout her youth, Bell was fascinated with fashion. Her love of Barbie prompted her to use her art skills to sketch designs and then take leftover fabric from her mother's sewing room and make her own Barbie clothes.

While attending college at the University of Alabama, Bell yearned for life in New York City and decided to spend her summers interning for designers Nanette Lepore and later Rebecca Taylor. After graduating with a degree in fashion design and studio art, Bell went back to New York City to extend her education at Parsons New School. Also while in New York, she worked as an assistant designer at Jones Apparel Group and then as an assistant designer at Vineyard Vines. Bell soon began producing her own line on the side and partnered with then-roommate Jennifer Dixon to create Hunter Dixon. Meanwhile, Bell took a day job at a hedge fund while whipping up the collection in her spare time. In October 2009, their hard work finally paid off. Through Bell's day job, Hunter Dixon was soon set up with a venture capitalist that agreed to invest in the emerging line, allowing Bell to work full-time with her business.

Hunter Dixon is a women's contemporary fashion line with feminine flair that is recognized for its whimsical and flirty designs. Each collection is filled with bold colors, unique detailing and abstract prints. Consisting of structured dresses, classic blouses and tailored jackets, Hunter Dixon has been carried in over 150 boutiques nationwide. Hunter Dixon has also been featured in major publications such as Elle, Harper's Bazaar, Lucky Magazine, Marie Claire, People Magazine, InStyle, Women's Wear Daily, People Style Watch, US Weekly, Fox News, Today, The View and O Magazine.

Bell lives with her husband in New York City.
