Erika De Salvatore
Erika De Salvatore serves as a featured buyer for Express on "Fashion Star," NBC's reality competition series that will search for the next great brand.
Erika De Salvatore is director of visual merchandising at Express, a publicly held, dual-gender fashion brand that has been a leader in specialty retail apparel for more than 30 years. De Salvatore is known for her critical eye, which is essential in her role of ensuring consistent execution of visual presentation and merchandising for the brand.
De Salvatore joined the Express corporate team in 2003, bringing with her the unique perspective of having worked in management roles in stores for more than five years for both Express and BCBG Max Azria. Working in stores strengthened her understanding of and appreciation for how best to create in-store visual experiences for customers that are engaging and truly reflective of the brand.
All but one year of De Salvatore's career has been spent as part of the Express brand, which she attributes to her belief in the strength of the brand and the commitment of the company to a fashion point of view and to a belief in the need to continuously evolve. Much of her year is spent on the road, traveling to many of the more than 600 Express stores, refining the Express brand presentation and gaining inspiration for what is next.
De Salvatore is a graduate of Mercyhurst College and the Fashion Institute of Technology. She resides in Columbus, Ohio.
