Joely Richardson stars as Glinda, a powerful witch who has forsaken her magic and power to live under the Wizard's rule, on NBC's epic new drama series "Emerald City."

Richardson starred for five seasons on the television series "Nip/Tuck," which earned her two Golden Globe nominations for best actress. She also played the last wife of Henry the Eighth on the Showtime series "The Tudors."

Some of Richardson's recent film work includes "Snowden," directed by Oliver Stone; "Maggie," with Arnold Schwarzenegger; "Endless Love"; "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," directed by David Fincher; "Anonymous," directed by Roland Emmerich, with whom she had worked with on "The Patriot" opposite Mel Gibson; and "Thanks for Sharing," with Tim Robbins.

She has also returned to her theater roots and recent credits include "Side Effects" (Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Actress), "Lady from the Sea," "Ivanov" opposite Ethan Hawke (Outer Critics Circle nomination for Outstanding Actress), one-woman show "The Belle of Amherst" (Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Solo Performance) and last year's "The Wars of the Roses" trilogy directed by Trevor Nunn, in which she played Queen Margaret in all three plays.

American audiences first saw Richardson in "101 Dalmatians." Other work includes Ken Russell's "Lady Chatterley," "Event Horizon," Peter Greenaway's "Drowning by Numbers," "Sister My Sister" and "Maybe Baby" with Hugh Laurie, and the yet unreleased films "Fallen," directed by Scott Hicks, and "Papa Hemingway in Cuba."
