DOROTHY GALE

Played By Adria Arjona

Actor Bio

Adria Arjona stars as Dorothy Gale, a young woman transported to an unfamiliar land and thrust in the midst of a looming war between science and magic, on NBC's epic new drama series "Emerald City."

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Mexico City, Arjona became accustomed to airplanes and distant countries as she traveled with her father, a renowned Latin American singer-songwriter. This lifestyle allowed her to breathe art, music and a bohemian lifestyle from a very early age.

At age 12, Arjona moved to Miami, where she lived until she was 18. It was then that she made the brave decision to move to New York on her own to study at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Through a consummate work ethic and dedication to honing her craft, Arjona's hard work began to pay off when she landed guest-starring roles on series such as "Unforgettable," "Person of Interest" and "Narcos." She gained further recognition in her role as Emily on HBO's "True Detective," opposite Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch.

As her star continues to rise, Arjona will next be seen in the James Gunn-penned MGM feature film "The Belko Experiment," starring opposite John Gallagher Jr. and Tony Goldwyn.
