Alana De La Garza | Dr. Lena Solis
De La Garza is best-known for her starring role in NBC's Emmy Award-winning series "Law & Order" as Assistant District Attorney Connie Rubirosa. She was previously seen on "CSI: Miami" as the wife of police officer Horatio Caine (David Caruso) and in the series "The Book of Daniel."
Born in Columbus, Ohio, to a Mexican-American father and an Irish-American mother, De La Garza relocated to Texas as a child, where she attended the University of Texas to pursue a career in physical therapy. She then moved to Orlando and landed roles in both local independent films and worldwide commercials. Her passion for acting soon took her to New York, where De La Garza got her first break playing Rosa Santos on the daytime drama "All My Children."
Los Angeles soon followed, and De La Garza quickly landed a series of guest-starring roles on "JAG," "Las Vegas" and "Two and a Half Men." She was then cast as a series lead on "The Mountain." She has also had guest-starring turns on "Smallville" and "Charmed."
In 2006, she joined the cast of "Law & Order" for its 17th season, portraying Assistant District Attorney Connie Rubirosa. Her performance garnered a nomination for "Best Supporting Actress - Television" by the Imagen Foundation Awards and several ALMA Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Television Series, in addition to her winning a 2008 Impact Award for Outstanding Performance in a Dramatic Television Series from the National Hispanic Media Coalition. De La Garza played A.D.A. Rubirosa for the final four seasons of "Law & Order," becoming one of the longest-serving actors as second-chair Assistant District Attorney. In 2011, she reprised her role on "Law & Order: Los Angeles."
De La Garza's film credits include the romantic comedy "Mr. Fix It" with David Boreanaz and most recently, "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner's 2012 film debut, "You Are Here," starring Owen Wilson and Zach Galifianakis.
