We caught up with Patrick Muldoon about the exciting return of his character, Austin Reed, to Days of our Lives. Read the full interview below!
Days Insider: What did you miss most about being on DAYS?
Patrick Muldoon: The people I get to work with. Cast and crew. What can I say? I always had a great time when I went to work on DAYS. I can't say that about every gig I've had. But I can say it about DAYS. We do have fun together.
Days Insider: How (if at all) do you feel your character has changed since we last saw him?
Patrick Muldoon: He grew up. I didn't... but Austin did - haha. He's married. He's got a real job. He seems together and grounded when he comes back to Salem. Good luck with that Austin.
Days Insider: Whom are you most excited about working with again?
Patrick Muldoon: Of course Christie since we are great pals in real life. Drake makes me laugh like no one else; and Ali somewhere along the way became a woman, so that's been a trip. I remember her screen test! I think she was 16?
Days Insider: What is your favorite storyline from the past?
Patrick Muldoon: That's a tough question. I loved the whole story of Reed's and Brady's. But I'll never forget the moment where Austin discovered Kate was his mother.
Days Insider: Will your return push Carrie and Austin into conflict?
Patrick Muldoon: They definitely will have their work cut out for them.
Days Insider: What's in store for Sami and Austin, given their torrid past?
Patrick Muldoon: All the history is there between them. They could be talking about the weather, but it's always just under the surface with them. But Sami seems to have pulled it together having a family now. Potentially anything can happen when Sami is involved.
Days Insider: How will Austin deal with his mother Kate's close involvement with the crime-ridden DiMeras?
Patrick Muldoon: How will he deal with it? He hates it! And so does Patrick! I mean... Come on, Mom!! Stefano DiMera!!?? Are you @#$%^&* kidding me!!!?????
