Insider Blog

The fans have spoken! I've recently noticed that you all are taking a strong liking to Salem's latest romance between Victor and Maggie. So naturally, I wanted to catch up with the two actors who play them, John Aniston and Suzanne Rogers, and ask them how it's been being involved in a front-burner storyline on Days of our Lives. Not surprisingly, these two were hilarious, gracious and all-around entertaining to hang out with.

Days Insider: What has it been like being part of this new summer romance storyline?

Suzanne: First of all, I didn't see it coming. I love it! I don't think I've ever been part of a popular couple. It's been really nice. Well, John here has had a few relationships on the show.

John: I'm trying to get this relationship moving up to Victor speed as fast as I can. You know Suzanne is no help at all.

Days Insider: What do you think the appeal of this Victor/Maggie relationship is to fans?

John: I think they are two characters that endear themselves and the audience just wants to root for them and it's nice to see them get together.

Suzanne: I agree. There are so many other characters on the show that you just love to hate, or ones who have had their ups and downs that it's nice to see our characters blossoming. Fans always love the beginning stages of a romance on the show.

John: Uh-oh, if Victor doesn't call Maggie, I'm afraid they'll get pissed off.

Days Insider: Are we in for a nice rollercoaster when you throw Vivian into the triangle?

John: I don't know what's coming.

Suzanne: I don't either. They like to keep us on our toes around here. I think on purpose they hold scripts back from us. We'll get them on a Friday and be ready to shoot on that Monday.

Days Insider: Do you think Victor is going to bring out Maggie's feisty side and vice-versa, we may even see Victor start acting more nice?

John: I just used that line the other day that Maggie is sounding more and more like a Kiriakis.

Suzanne: I know, I know! It's true. But it's refreshing, because I think the ladies in Victor's life have been on the crazy side and Maggie is a little less crazy.

John: Yeah, we'll work on her crazy side.

Days Insider: We are approaching the 45th anniversary, do you have any favorite storylines from the past that you care to share?

Suzanne: I love the red shoes storyline, but I also love the Maggie/Victor stuff we are shooting now. I can appreciate it more now that I'm older.

John: I love how Victor is now. He gets to be more fun and gets in more one-liners. And what you hear on the show compared to what you hear in rehearsal is totally different.

Suzanne: Sometimes, I have to turn away when John delivers those great one-liners just to keep myself from cracking up. It's all in his delivery.

There you have it! These two have been on fire lately on screen and I can't wait to see what happens when Vivian gets tossed into the mix. And Victor thought being married to Nicole was bad! I guess we'll have to wait and see what new and exciting stuff awaits Salem's latest "it" couple.
