Daytime Emmys: Morning After

Well, we survived another year! I'm writing you all from the Las Vegas Hilton, where last night's Daytime Emmys were held. I have to say, this year's ceremony was all about glitz and glamour. I was fortunate enough to hang with the cast just before they hit the red carpet and smile for the cameras. It was complete pandemonium here between the flashing bulbs of cameras from the fans to the red carpet madness that awaited everybody just a short walk away.

Despite Arianne Zucker, James Scott, Molly Burnett and Shelley Hennig losing in their categories, it was still a great honor for them to be centered out among their peers for their acting.

After the ceremony, we all poured into the banquet for dinner and champagne. It was so great to see Days actors mingling with so many familiar faces from other shows. It really did feel like a reunion of sorts. Louise Sorel was having a wonderful time and simply gushing about how great it was to present with Peter Reckell. After our conversation, I was able to grab a photo of her, Peter, and Leann Hunley, who were all sitting together.

Our official Days of our Lives after party was when everybody was able to really cut loose. Outstanding Supporting Actress winner Julie Pinson and her husband, Billy Warlock, even stopped by to tell Arianne Zucker what an amazing job she did this year.

Just from being at the party for a few minutes, you feel an amazing closeness with the entire cast (a bond that you don't see often in this business).

I couldn't imagine anything better than ending my Las Vegas adventure at four in the morning at the craps table with Judi Evans, Crystal Chappell, Michael Sabatino and Shawn Christian.

With great storylines on the horizon and the Days actors delivering those storylines in top form, I expect Days of our Lives to be a fierce competitor in next year's Daytime Emmys. Now I want to know what you thought! From the hottest Emmy moments to the best-dressed, leave me your comments below!
