Hope comes to Nicole with news about what the D.A. will do with her case. At the same time, Daniel asks Jennifer what happened when she talked to the D.A. Jennifer has decided to let it go and not press charges. When Daniel hears this, he impulsively pulls Jennifer into an embrace. But quickly self-aware, he pulls back, thanking her. She can tell he still cares what happens to Nicole, and he admits he feels responsible for her. Jennifer wonders if he still has some feelings for Nicole, but Daniel only thinks of the impassioned moment when he told Jennifer he loved her... and she's recalls that same moment. But neither gives voice to it and he goes.
