Stefano and EJ present John and Marlena with a shocking proposal. If John is willing to sell them Basic Black, EJ will drop the civil suit. John realizes EJ only wants to do this to improve his public persona - he will swoop in and save John's employees and their jobs and also repay their missing pensions. EJ will be a hero and will probably ride this act of goodwill right into the mayor's seat.
