Nicole is alone when Daniel returns to her room, reeling from what he'd heard from Brady about how Jennifer deliberately pushed Nicole down those stairs... which made Nicole lose her baby. Nicole, anxious that Daniel believe her story - even if it isn't true - pulls out the emotional stops, pleading with him to help her understand how Jennifer could do this to her. When he describes how others are describing the incident, she's sure he doubts Jennifer, and her hopes soar. Daniel later leaves her room and makes a beeline for the police station once he learns Jennifer's been arrested.
