Marlena is elated when John surprises her with his return. John explains how Stefano kidnapped both him and Hope and then turned them into his pawns to get a mysterious code. Marlena is just relieved John was able to get home. But her joy is short-lived as John drops a bombshell - he's working for the ISA again to bring down Stefano. Marlena begs John not to put his life at risk - she just wants a normal life. But John argues he needs to do this to protect their family from Stefano.
