Sami has a nightmare about the loss of her children. Rafe comforts her. At the same time, EJ tries to deal with Johnny's unyielding need for his mother. Meanwhile, Nicole fears she will have to make a choice between Brady and Sydney, but vows to figure a way out of her dilemma. She runs into EJ, Johnny, and Sydney on the pier and gets caught up in her emotions. She is put in a position where EJ makes his ultimatum crystal clear. Before she can answer, Sami and Rafe unexpectedly cross in. Johnny sees his mother, and wants her. EJ tries to take him away but Johnny screams, "I want my mother!" Kate hopes she can resolve all with Stefano, and he seems agreeable, but there is a condition. Kate is forced to deliver a gift to Daniel and Chloe as punishment for her actions. She balks at first but finally gives in. But when she returns, she realizes this is not enough and that Stefano may always punish her for what has happened. Stefano is unyielding, but this time so is Kate and later she tells him she is done! Stephanie tries to convince Caroline that they must tell the truth about the paternity switch, but Caroline refuses to discuss the matter. Stephanie nearly tells Nathan all, but Caroline reveals Sami's situation. Stephanie realizes her grandmother wouldn't be able to handle another blow to the family. Nathan returns and Stephanie keeps the secret. She tells him about Sami, and Nathan feels terrible. Stephanie, taking the opportunity and says she'd like to get married as soon as possible. Meanwhile, Chloe and Daniel begin to plan Parker's baptism, unaware of the disaster that could be lurking. Brady defends Nicole to Melanie. Melanie and Philip consider having a child themselves.
