Arianna notifies Roman about Troy's phone and he tries to unlock it to get the number of the head of the drug cartel. Meanwhile, Troy realizes he left his phone at Java Cafe. EJ activates a program on his phone to delete Troy's cell's memory. Roman unlocks the phone, but soon realizes it's been wiped. Arianna worries that Troy will find out she has his phone, and Roman tells her not to worry because he's got idea. Meanwhile, EJ reams out Troy for leaving his phone behind and threatens to replace Troy with Arianna. Troy returns to the Java CafÃ©, looking for his phone, and he recovers it intact. Later, Troy meets back up with Arianna and is pleasant with her, but off of EJ's threats, he privately plans on taking Arianna out. Carly, convinced Hope hates her for kissing Bo, thinks she never should've returned to Salem. Bo wonders if Carly wished they hadn't kissed. Carly can't deal with her feelings for him given that Vivian might have found out she has a secret child and decides that she will stay away from her daughter until Vivian is neutralized. Bo reminds Carly she's not alone. When she and Bo share another moment of warmth, the connection sparks a memory of her love for Bo, and Carly dares to hope that maybe she and Bo do have a future. Meanwhile, Hope overhears Vivian tell Victor that she knows part of Carly's secret, but Justin's arrival prevents Vivian from saying more. Vivian invites Hope and Justin to join her and Victor on their trip to celebrate New Year's Eve, but both turn her down. Alone, Hope tells Justin about what she overheard and about seeing Bo and Carly kissing. However, she decides to protect Carly from Vivian. Justin gives her an idea on how to do that. In the meantime, Vivian tells Victor that once she discovers the identity of Carly's child, she plans on taking that child away from Carly... permanently. Sami is about to tell Rafe about the note from Sydney's kidnapper when he receives a call from his FBI contact. This leads him to explain to her what the Feds would do if they received a ransom note. Sami believes that FBI involvement would not necessarily protect Sydney and she decides not to tell him about the note. She explains this to EJ, who's relieved, although Sami herself is still torn about her decision.
