EJ must work hard to convince Sami to let him bring the kids to Stefano's in order to beat Stefano's one-hour deadline. Sami resists. Stefano calls EJ when the deadline passes. EJ promises they'll be there. He finally uses the custody terms with Sami to insist on bringing the children to the mansion. Sami is forced to agree, but she's going with. At the mansion, Sami doesn't believe EJ's excuse that Stefano is sick. Stefano covers for EJ, and enjoys his reunion with his grandchildren. Later, when Sami wants to take the kids home, she's informed that they are spending the night, and she's left out in the cold. Rafe is released by Roman from police custody and goes with Arianna to the Cheatin' Heart. While there, he checks out the scene of Justin's mugging and Arianna works to refocus Rafe's investigative efforts back to solving Sydney's kidnapping. Rafe must help Sami because Arianna believes it will get them back together. Philip overhears Melanie and Stephanie talking about Melanie's letter to Nathan on her wedding day. When he walks in on them, they don't know if he heard or not. He pretends he didn't. After Stephanie leaves, Philip stuffs his hurt when Melanie confesses part of the reason she and Stephanie were fighting. She tells him she did have conflicted feelings about Nathan, but not any more. She doesn't tell him about the letter, but she convinces him of her love for him. They end up making love. Later, while Melanie sleeps, Philip can't help but wonder if Melanie will be true to him... Stephanie and Nathan get together for a date and end up going back to her place to make love instead.
