Sami can't get Sydney to stop crying and turns to EJ for help. Sami comments on the bond between EJ and his daughter, a bond that wasn't broken when Sydney was kidnapped. EJ stuffs his guilt and reassures an insecure Sami about her role in their child's life. Sexual tension arises as Sami notes he's not a bad guy after all. Rafe thinks Anna is faking her inability to breathe in order to get out of answering his questions. She collapses, and he realizes she's truly ill. At the hospital, he learns the food she ordered was poisoned. The doctor tells Rafe things don't look good for her. Meanwhile, Stefano receives cryptic updates on Anna's condition. Maggie convinces Mia not to drop out of school and to stay with her in Salem. As Hope listens in, Baker refuses to name his partner to Nicole. Nicole says she'll back off - as long as Baker agrees to frame Arianna for the next attack. Nicole leaves, and Hope moves in, demanding that Baker not frame Ari. Hope will not sell another woman down the river. A cowed Baker agrees. Meanwhile, Nicole learns Arianna had a fight with Brady. She calls Arianna, who unwittingly confirms she's alone and turning in for the night. Realizing her rival will have no alibi, Nicole tells Baker it's time to move ahead with the plan. Baker secretly takes the planted evidence with him as he and Hope attack their next victim - Roman!
