EJ stops breathing and Sami attempts to resuscitate him. EJ revives and, lost in the moment, kisses her. Before she can react, a cop arrives and calls for an ambulance. At the hospital, Sami realizes EJ doesn't remember the kiss. Rafe confronts Stefano about his and EJ's rapprochement, and doesn't buy Stefano's excuses. Stefano learns of EJ's attack. He and Rafe rush to the hospital. Stefano assures Lexie he will find and punish EJ's attacker. Rafe witnesses an intimate moment between EJ and Sami. On a date, Stephanie notes that Nathan is no longer thinking of Melanie. He tells her they said goodbye and both mean it. Stephanie tells Adrienne that she believes Nathan is her destiny, and that he will soon love her as deeply as she loves him. Chloe almost reveals to Melanie and Daniel that she and Philip slept together. However, she then realizes Philip never told Melanie. In private, Chloe and Philip agree to keep their transgression a secret. When Chloe calls Philip to confirm Daniel must never know they slept together, it's Nathan who overhears. Meanwhile, Melanie assures Daniel that Philip will never hurt her. Vivian is furious when she realizes her plan to make Chloe confront Carly backfired. She figures out how to ensure Chloe doesn't find out she set her up to think Daniel and Carly slept together. Baker manages to gain the password from EJ's bank card and transfers money into his account.
