The faxed note from the kidnappers sends Sami and Rafe into a tailspin, and Sami increasingly putting her faith in EJ to find their daughter. When Sami and Rafe go home, they have a blow-out fight and trade accusations, with Sami blaming Rafe for the fact that Sydney's not home and might never be. Meanwhile, Anna is impatient to learn when she will get her money and wonders whether her accomplice is ever planning to give the baby back. Carly has a nightmarish fantasy of Vivian killing her daughter. Victor lays into Carly when they cross paths at the hospital, and she is horrified when she learns that he and Vivian may be accompanying Philip and Melanie on their extended honeymoon. Reeling off this news, Carly enters the Java Café and finds Melanie and Vivian in the throes of bridal planning and having found the perfect wedding dress. Carly barges in and demands that Vivian get her hands off Melanie. Hope tells Justin she needs time, and he understands. As they talk, she realizes he still loves and misses his family as much as she does hers. She meets Julie for lunch and tells her that she just learned Bo has had feelings for Carly all this time. Julie doesn't believe it and doesn't think Hope should, either. Hope talks to Julie about Justin and says she hasn't been fair to him when she knew her heart would only ever belong to one man. Julie urges Hope to go after what she really wants. Meanwhile, Julie gives Nathan and Stephanie some gentle encouragement on their relationship front. While they are now officially official, they agree to hold off on telling Melanie and Philip they're dating until after the wedding.
