Hope grabs her gun and is about to exit her bedroom when Justin stops by to make sure she's okay. Lying, she says she's just drifting off to sleep. Justin goes and Hope sneaks out of the house and into a poker game. One of the players is a familiar face! Nathan insists on talking to Melanie about their feelings for one another. She tells him what was in the letter she wrote him and Nathan kisses her, just as Philip enters. Philip quietly leaves. He gets drunk, unaware that Melanie is telling Nathan she doesn't want to be with him anymore. She's committed to Philip. Nathan accepts this and they have a bittersweet goodbye, the romance between them over. Chloe learns from a nurse that Daniel and Carly may have gone to a motel. Chloe races to the motel, and the motel clerk leads her to believe they checked in. Unaware that Vivian paid the nurse and clerk to lie, Chloe returns home, takes a drink to calm her nerves, and starts to cry. Unable to be alone with her despair, she opens the door to leave and comes face to face with Philip, who was about to knock. Meanwhile, Daniel's surgery is successful and he looks forward to a future with Chloe. EJ decides to tell Sami he loves her, especially as they seem to bond even more. But when he realizes she still has feelings for Rafe, he changes his mind. When Sami admits she wishes she never lied about her pregnancy, wishes that she never ended up in Dr. Baker's clinic, EJ tells her they must think of the future and suggests she and the kids move in with him.
