Sami and EJ's wedding is interrupted by Roman, who throws the cuffs on his daughter. All are in shock as Roman explains he's determined to stop this wedding any way he can. Sami finally convinces Roman to stay for the ceremony, which resumes with an exchange of touching personal vows. Meanwhile, Rafe is methodically building a case against EJ, unaware he's marrying Sami at this very moment. Rafe offers Nicole FBI protection, but she flees custody. Later, Rafe learns from Gabi that Sami and EJ's wedding is in progress, and he bursts in before they can be pronounced man and wife. Carly runs into a delay as she tries to get Chloe's paternity results at St. Mary's. At the same time, Chloe's birthday party continues. As tension mounts, edgy Philip leaves the party with Melanie. Daniel worries about fragile Chloe and assures her there's nothing he wouldn't do for her. Meanwhile, Stephanie is devastated to learn that Daniel is not the baby's father. Scared at the thought of losing Nathan to Melanie over this, she finally realizes that there's one way to make this best for everyone. She asks Ian to change the paternity results. He balks, but ultimately agrees. However, he realizes someone else has beaten him to it. Earlier, it's shown that Melanie, Daniel, Philip, Chloe, and Carly each potentially had the opportunity to change the results.
