Kate and Stefano watch the incriminating tape Madeline has kept on them, revealing the horrible secret they all share from years ago. Madeline calls to meet with Stefano, knows Kate and Stefano broke into her safe deposit box and got the tape along with other contents. She says he can keep the tape, but she wants everything else back. Stefano agrees to this, telling her they are to put it all behind them now. Meanwhile, Kate goes through the rest of Madeline's things. She opens an envelope that reveals an even bigger secret. Sami welcomes Lucas and Allie back to town, and they reminisce about Alice. They go to Alice's house so Lucas and Allie can see her and learn she's taken a turn for the worst. They bring Allie up to see her; in hopes it will make Alice feel better. Nathan and Melanie repress their feelings for one another and remain chaste in their face to face encounter, even though Melanie wants to comfort him about Alice. Stephanie arrives and Melanie goes. Nathan and Stephanie bond as Stephanie holds onto him tighter than ever. Chloe convinces Daniel that they must get married right away. He reluctantly agrees. However, when he tells Melanie, she gets suspicious. Melanie walks in on Chloe leaving a message for Nicole about her one night stand. Melanie asks Chloe what kind of game she's playing with Daniel, and Chloe wonders how much Melanie heard.
