Stefano offers Sami a truce, which she repudiates. He nearly loses his temper and reveals EJ's feelings for her. However, he ultimately forces himself to abide by EJ's wishes and extends himself to Sami. Sami remains wary of Stefano, but is feeling more kindly disposed toward EJ again after their conversation. Meanwhile, Rafe is convinced there's something fishy about EJ's sudden reconciliation with Stefano. EJ makes a convincing case for DiMera family values, but Rafe doesn't buy it. Rafe abruptly cuts their conversation short when he hears that Anna's been located. EJ panics and runs to Stefano, who assures that it's a false lead, and he's sent Rafe on a wild goose chase. Kate, meanwhile, is appalled that Stefano has extended himself to Sami, but she rapidly gets on board once she understands the implications for Lucas. In counterpoint, Sami is shocked to learn that Rafe is still looking for Anna, even after he said he wanted out of her life. They have a rapprochement which is interrupted when he learns the lead on Anna fell through. Sami assures Rafe of her faith in him. Hope and Adrienne discuss their feelings for Justin. When Justin walks up on them, Justin and Adrienne have a heart-to-heart, and soon realize it's too late for them. Adrienne makes a move to sell the Cheatin' Heart and leave town. Hope is overwhelmed with work and family responsibilities. Abe offers to take her off the mugging case, but she needs to prove herself. At home, she tucks Ciara in and goes to bed. Later that night, Ciara is surprised to see Hope coming in from outside and is puzzled to hear her mom make a strange blurt about Justin. Nathan and Melanie deal with Lexie over the fallout from a patient's sudden death. As Stephanie offers Nathan support, Kate gives Melanie a friendly reminder of her obligations to Philip. Melanie and Nathan continue to struggle with their feelings, and Nathan asks her to meet with him so they can figure out how to work together. After working late at the hospital, Lexie comes across unconscious Abe at the pier.
