While Hope comes to the horrible realization that Nick may be the killer, Melanie confronts Nick about what she remembers - that he is the one who put the knife in Trent's back. Via what they hear over Nick's phone, Philip and Stephanie narrow down where they might be and they take the information to Bo and Hope. Using it as confirmation of what they have already just learned, Bo and Hope tell Philip and Stephanie to sit tight and go home, but they go to the airport hotel as well. Meanwhile, Melanie works every trick she can to get Nick to confess and get away from him. She is horrified when she learns Nick has taken a life before. Melanie desperately tries to escape through the window. As they struggle, Bo and Hope burst into the room and Nick inadvertently lets go and bumps Melanie. Everyone watches as Melanie falls off the balcony, possibly to her death. Due to Daniel's effort in saving Kate, she has complete confidence in her recovery which ends up disturbing Daniel. Meanwhile, Lucas shows Chloe proof of his serious feelings for her while she relates how seeing Brady has made her realize how happy she is with Lucas. Later, Lucas and Chloe are with Kate when she gets excellent news about her treatment as Daniel privately, seems very unnerved. Lucas makes it clear to his mother that he is with Chloe for the long run. Chloe finds Daniel and he relates how he always gets too involved in a patient's recovery, and privately sweats it out. He doesn't want Kate to know how agitated he gets at every point since she could easily see it as a loss of confidence. Chloe promises not to tell anyone and Daniel and her share their first secret.
