Will asks Sami why they have to go to the christening. Sami explains that they're going for Johnny, but Will senses there are other reasons. Sami apologizes for the way she's been acting, blaming it on her being away for so long. They share a warm moment and head for the church. Meanwhile, Brady and Nicole discuss that Philip will no longer be bothering them. Nicole can't thank Brady enough for everything he's done, and moves to embrace him until EJ enters, asking why Brady's here. Nicole says he's going to the christening, and as Brady exits, EJ protests and Nicole brings up that if Sami's going, why can't Brady? Before the argument can escalate, Sydney begins to fuss and the two comfort her. Stefano enters on this, and praises the perfect looking family. While everyone prepares for Sydney's christening, Mia's flight from Japan has landed. She goes to the DiMera mansion, and the door opens to Tony. Mia asks for Nicole, and Tony explains she's not here. Tony questions her sudden appearance, and when Tony presses her, Mia cracks, telling him that she came to see her baby. Mia suddenly realizes what she's said, and rushes out, leaving Tony with some intriguing information. At the same time, EJ, Nicole, and Sydney enter the church. EJ goes to find Father Matt, just as Sami shows up to find Nicole. They share a "friendly" greeting and Nicole is excited that Sami actually came because she wants her to see the perfect DiMera family in all its glory. Disgusted, Sami asks to see Johnny as Will enters. When Nicole tells them that Johnny stayed home due to a slight fever, Will decides that nothing is keeping him here and leaves. Sami decides to stay and say a prayer for Grace as Nicole receives a special gown for Sydney from Stefano. After EJ walks in holding Sydney and she spits up on him, Sami offers to hold her while he cleans himself up. EJ takes a moment to notice how "right" Sami looks holding Sydney. Meanwhile, Tony confronts Nicole and stuns her when she says he knows Sydney is not her baby. Will takes a walk on the pier after leaving the church, and happens to stumble across a girl crying. It's Mia. After a meeting with Tony, Melanie fears that Tony is going to double-cross her. Meanwhile, Max finds out that Melanie stole his copy of the fuels project, and is furious. He summons her to the Cheatin' Heart where he lays into her. Melanie breaks down crying, complaining that she's been duped. She tries to give Max his share of the money, but he protests. Melanie suddenly realizes she's not going down without a fight. Meanwhile, Philip can't help but try to save the project even though he intellectually sees it's doomed with no blue prints. Stephanie tries to calm him down, but it's no use. Later, Melanie meets with Philip and explains that there's still a copy of the fuels project. Philip demands to know where, and Melanie says Tony tricked her into stealing them for money. Philip rushes to the DiMera mansion to confront Tony while Stephanie calls Brady and tells him she's worried about Philip and what he might do.
