On the phone, Philip is about to tell EJ that Nicole and Brady are having an affair when Henderson tells him Lucas is in the hospital. Philip cuts the call short. Meanwhile, Nicole runs out the door to meet with Philip and comes face to face with Sami, who has just returned to Salem and wants to take Johnny. Neither is thrilled to see the other. Nicole catches herself before she reveals her knowledge of Sami's pregnancy and birth of her daughter. EJ enters, quickly covering his happiness when he sees Sami. Sami notices tension between EJ and Nicole, which Nicole minimizes. When Sydney cries, EJ gets her and asks Sami if she'd like to hold the baby. Nicole blurts and quickly yells no. Lucas fills Kate in on his break-up with Chloe, which led to his falling off the wagon. He tells her that Chloe wants to get back together, but he isn't sure what he wants. Kate tells him not to walk away from love. Kate and Philip share a warm moment when he learns she's in remission. After Kate leaves, Lucas tells Philip he's decided to get back together with Chloe. Stephanie moves in, undetected, and is touched to overhear Philip say they all want to be with the person they love. Later, Philip runs into Stephanie at the hospital. He apologizes for all the pain he's caused her, asks her to give him another chance. Stephanie says she loves Philip but she's not ready to go back to him. Stunned, Daniel doesn't understand why Chloe is ending their relationship. She tells him about praying to God after the explosion, when Lucas had died. She promised God to be with Lucas and walk away from Daniel if Lucas lived. God granted her that miracle and now she must honor it. Daniel is disbelieving, convinced Chloe is reacting out of guilt. He threatens to tell Lucas about their affair. Chloe convinces Daniel that even if he does tell Lucas everything, she still won't be with Daniel. She betrayed Lucas by sleeping with Daniel and it's time she made things right. The two share a farewell kiss, unaware that Kate has seen and overheard them!
