EJ informs Melanie that he's aware of her little game to use the fuels project to win Philip's heart. Melanie explains that was the case, at first, but has come to realize Philip is a jerk. She wants nothing more than to work with the DiMeras. EJ puts her on notice stating he's the boss, and he will make a decision later. Daniel tells Chloe that if Kate's test results today show that she's in remission, they can finally leave town and never look back. Kate meets Daniel at the hospital for her testing and the two share a close moment. At the same time, Chloe runs into Lucas with Allie, who is tearful because she misses Chloe. Lucas is very angry at Chloe, but admits he still loves her. Chloe's torn as she realizes she still loves Lucas, too. Lucas can't believe her and exits with Allie, and Chloe finds herself sobbing on the park bench. She is approached by a priest, Father Matt, who offers a sympathetic ear. Chloe admits she's torn between two lovers and says that what happened is all her fault and she's the one who deserves to be alone. Father Matt says he thinks he knows what she needs to do. Devastated, Lucas goes to the Brady pub and finally succumbs to temptation and takes a drink. Melanie tells Maggie that she met Lucas and innocently lets it slip that he's falling off the wagon Victor again pits Brady against Philip by letting Brady close a deal with a client. Philip becomes furious that Brady and Victor went behind his back, and Victor suggests that Brady should join Philip on the Alternative Fuels Project due to Philip slipping up. Philip insists he doesn't need Brady's help, and Victor decides to let Philip continue handling the project, for now. Kate enters, and speaks to Victor and Philip, making it known that she plans to resume active control of her life if she's in remission. After Philip leaves, Kate confides to Victor that she's realized she wants to rekindle things with Daniel, and Victor urges her to tell him. Meanwhile at the Brady pub, Philip misreads a conversation between Brady and EJ and thinks Brady is betraying him. Philip confronts Brady, and before he can explain, Philip storms off. He shows up at the DiMera mansion and confronts EJ to settle things once and for all. Maggie lays into Daniel and advises him that what he and Chloe have won't last. Lucas needs to learn the truth. Daniel assures that Chloe will tell Lucas herself. Maggie says he needs to be the one to tell Kate. Later, Kate shows up at the hospital and notices Daniel's grim expression. She wonders whether her test results show bad news.
