EJ finds Stefano calling Dr. Heismann, recalling him to Salem. Strong EJ tells Stefano he and Nicole he will take care of their child without Stefano's interference. Stefano agrees to back off. EJ learns from Daniel that Nicole has changed doctors. Nicole goes to Dr. Baker and asks him to pretend to be her obstetrician. He refuses, unmoved by Nicole's pleas. When he realizes the baby's father has money, he says he'll lie for Nicole if she pays him $750,000. Melanie tells Philip and Stephanie that Nick signed over the alternative fuels project to her. Convinced Melanie manipulated Nick into the decision, Philip goes to Nick. Nick swears that he's no longer obsessed with Melanie, and gave her the project to atone for his treatment of her. Stephanie accuses Melanie of being jealous of her relationship with Philip, Melanie implies she and Philip slept together. Bo thinks he hears Ciara crying, but later confesses to Abe the cry was in his head. Abe insists Bo see Daniel who tells Bo he's stressed, there's nothing physically wrong with him. Bo is relieved, but when he's alone, he has a flash to an unknown child being wheeled into the hospital, and the child's life in danger. Chelsea, with Theo, finds Max at the pier, contemplating whether to throw his toy dog into the water, thereby getting rid of the horrible memories of his father. Max admits he finds it difficult to move on. Chelsea empathizes, finding it difficult to move on from her inability to have children. They share a warm moment as both admit relationships are complicated. Theo sees and wants the stuffed toy, and Max is happy to give it to him.
