EJ calls Sami and tells her goodbye. This doesn't sit well with Sami who later explains to Rafe that she's worried now that EJ's moving on with Nicole, their special bond won't protect her if he ever finds out she's keeping his baby from him. Rafe promises to protect her, but Sami doubts that will be possible. Rafe looks at Sami and says regardless of what happens, he's got her back. Nicole nearly drugs Brady in order to discredit him, so that when he makes claims about her motives and actions, no one will believe him. Nicole comes clean with Brady and makes him understand why she's doing all of this for EJ. Nicole goes home, and EJ tells her about his conversation with Stefano and how he called Sami. He explains he didn't call her because he has feelings for Sami, but because he wanted to say goodbye. EJ tells Nicole he loves her. Chloe goes to the hospital for another pre-operation test. As Daniel administers the test, Lucas tells Kate how lucky they are that Chloe is going through with the bone marrow transplant. Daniel and Chloe experience an "electric" moment. Chloe is flushed with desire, but covers and Daniel, also turned on by the spark, assuages his guilt, by going to see Kate.
