Nicole continues to maintain that the story she told EJ about Brady is the truth. Sydney's cries interrupt their conversation, and EJ grows alarmed by the baby's evident illness. Nicole calmly soothes the little girl, and EJ can't help being impressed by her mothering skills. We see the parents bond over Sydney in spite of everything. Nicole tells EJ that Brady will confirm her story when they get home. Minutes before their plane lands, EJ tells Sydney that he loves her mother and wants to believe in her, but if she's lying - God help them all. Meredith hacks into Rafe's blackberry email account, and concocts a believable "goodbye" letter to Sami and Arianna. Meanwhile, Rafe dreams that he is struggling to get to Sami to tell her the truth that Sydney is really her baby. Meredith moves ahead with her plot to torture Rafe. Chad confronts Mia about keeping his child a secret after overhearing her conversation with Will. He pleads with Mia for information to reclaim his rights as a father, which she refuses, and resorts to attempting to retrieve information about Sydney's adoption from her laptop by force. Will walks in on Mia and Chad's confrontation and a tussle ensues, ending with Chad leaving, vowing to find his child. Will comforts a shaken Mia before briefly leaving her to call a lawyer. In his absence Mia has a revelation and flees to dissuade Chad from disrupting their child's life by hinting at the chance of a life for them together. Sami and Arianna come to a truce and vow to work together to find Rafe. Sami gets Meredith's email from Rafe saying he's left town and needs a fresh start. Please don't try to find him. Arianna gets a message too. She's initially suspicious, but eventually she and Sami are both persuaded that Rafe voluntarily removed himself from their lives. Later, Arianna is shocked to bump into a furtive Meredith. Daniel calls out Victor on his treatment of Chloe and demands respect for the woman he loves. He issues an ultimatum, and Victor seems to back down as he agrees to give Chloe another chance. Daniel and Chloe are looking forward to a happy future together, but Victor has other plans.
