Abe wants Roman to take over his job as police commissioner, but Roman declines the offer. Abe tries to convince Bo to take it, but Bo has no interest. He likes being a detective and hates the paperwork involved in a desk job. Hope meets up with Lexie and they discuss how both Lexie and Abe are now out of work. Lexie plans to set up a private practice but she is worried about Abe. The mayor has chosen a successor and is planning on making the big announcement at a news conference. Roman calls Bo and Hope to the station. Abe and Lexie watch the proceedings from their home. The mayor finally announces Abe's successor. It is Hope Williams Brady. Hope is stunned! Abe admits to Lexie he did have something to do with this. He whispered into a friend of the mayor's ear. Now they have to pray Hope will say yes and accept the job. John walks in on Stefano having breakfast with the twins. Stefano tells John the two of them need to settle their differences regarding his DiMera Empire. Stefano received the papers from John's attorney and he thinks he's asking for an awful lot. Stefano's not sure he's entitled to anything. John reminds him he is his half brother. John says it was Santo's seed money that Stefano used to get started. John is prepared to go to court if Stefano will not give him his fair share. Marlena tells Anna about John's erratic behavior. He got so jealous after seeing her with Trent Robbins that he punched him out. Anna wishes Tony would go a little nuts over her sometime. Marlena is definitely divorcing john. He is not the man she fell in love with and he never will be. She spent enough time chasing after him. She's moving on. Anna thinks she should give John more of a chance, especially since he's now interested in getting back together and repairing their marriage.
