Nick pulls Melanie closer toward him while Melanie feels both protected and unnerved by his attention. Later, Hope tries to reason with Nick as Melanie and Philip have an unexpected confrontation. Sami tries bluffing, but finally admits to Rafael she is pregnant, and then reveals why she has kept it a secret. Sami is hopeful that Rafe seems to understand her rationale given EJ is the father. But to her dismay, Rafael insists his superiors must know the truth. Philip is so upset by his mother's condition; he wants her to end the intense chemo. Lucas agrees while Daniel is opposed.
