Nicole learns that EJ plans to investigate Dr. Baker since Stefano was gathering information on him before leaving Salem. Nicole meets with Dr. Baker to reset her urgency that he leave town before EJ discovers he helped her switch babies. Dr. Baker refuses, telling Nicole it's up to her to keep their secret safe from EJ. Kate admits to Chloe she knows about Chloe's affair with Daniel. She won't tell Lucas, but does fire her from the TV show, which Lucas overhears. Covering to hide the truth from Lucas, Chloe explains her Vancouver job conflicted with the TV show, but Kate's pointed attitude toward Chloe makes Lucas wonder why Kate is treating her so harshly. After Kate leaves, Chloe insists she's relieved Kate fired her. Chloe and Lucas share a warm moment. Alone, Lucas leaves a message for Kate, wanting to get to the bottom of her changed attitude toward Chloe. Hope is suspicious when Melanie tells her about the new nurse and runs into Philip's room to find Nurse Camille trying to suffocate him. Hope grabs the nurse while Melanie gives Philip mouth to mouth resuscitation and Philip comes to. When Hope questions him he accuses the DiMeras of once again trying to kill him. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Stephanie share a warm good-bye before getting the news that Philip was attacked yet again. They rush to the hospital. Philip starts to get out of bed, staggers. Melanie catches him just as he's about to fall. Stephanie enters, seeing them in this seemingly close moment. Melanie starts to explain but Stephanie isn't jealous. She's just worried about Philip. She breaks down, not sure how much more she can take of the feud and moves out on a mission. Meanwhile, Chelsea has an emotional good-bye with Hope as she tells Hope she's leaving to take care of Billie. At the DiMera mansion, EJ opens his door to Stephanie, who tells him the feud must stop. EJ admits to nothing and kicks her out. He makes a call to Stefano's voice mail. Angry that Masi tried to kill Philip again, EJ promises they will avenge Tony's death - his way.
