Lucas and Chloe's engagement party is in full swing. Daniel announces he's at the party because of Chloe. She tries to stop him, but Daniel, instead of confessing that they have feelings for each other, toasts her and Lucas. Chloe spends the party trying to avoid Daniel while he defends her on Victor's verbal attacks. Kate welcomes Chloe to the family. When Chloe and Lucas are alone, Chloe wonders if her love for Lucas can really last. Lucas assures her it can, and when he moves off, Daniel appears, insisting that what has happened between him and Chloe is definitely not over. While Marlena researches Charlotte, finding nothing but positives about her, John finishes his hypnotherapy session. Although he recalls another memory with Marlena, he remembers nothing once he comes out of his trance. Charlotte refuses to reveal what he said, wanting to study the tape of the session first. Angry, John leaves not sure if he wants to continue therapy. He runs into Marlena who urges him to give Charlotte another chance. John agrees. After he leaves, Marlena gets a call from a former colleague of Charlotte's who reveals Charlotte abruptly left her last job, under a cloud of suspicion. Meanwhile, Charlotte views the tape of John's session, and nervously clicks her pen against her palm. What is Dr. Charlotte Taylor up to? Arriving at Lucas and Chloe's engagement party, EJ and Nicole have a nasty run-in with Victor. Nicole sees that Chloe is not happy about the engagement. Chloe says she just wants to do the right thing. Daniel interrupts, wanting to talk to Chloe, but she moves off. Alone with Nicole, Daniel asks if everything is working out with her new doctor. Nicole is impatient with him, and she asks EJ to take her home. Mia calls, wanting to meet Nicole. EJ, overhearing, asks who Mia is. Nicole spins a lie about Mia finding her bracelet and Nicole needing to pick it up tonight. When EJ insists on going with her, Nicole agrees to wait until the next day. When Nicole calls Mia back, Mia wants to visit her instead. Nicole quickly says no, but convinces Mia that she's not ashamed of her, and wants to meet up the next day. Mia agrees as long as Nicole brings her fiancé. Stephanie sees Philip wishing Chloe nothing but happiness. Alone, Stephanie tells Philip he's a nice guy. But when she teases him about sexually harassing her at the office, Philip gets serious. He realizes they can't work together and be together. He has to reassign her to someone else. Lucas and Kate think Max and Chelsea are more than friends. A playful moment between them also leads the waitress at the Brady pub to believe they're a cute couple. Max and Chelsea insist to one another, despite their kiss on New Years, that they're just friends.
