Bo and Hope learn Ciara took candy from a stranger at her birthday party, and Tracy gave her the bear. Hope, unable to accept that Ciara was targeted because of Hope's money, theorizes that maybe the DiMeras are behind the kidnapping. Victor and Justin come to the station to say they're going to provide the ransom money. Victor wants to use his own methods to find Ciara, but Bo says he will handle it. Hope has a happy memory of Ciara and briefly loses control, and breaks down. Justin comforts her. Bo later pulls Hope aside to embrace and remind her they are an unbeatable team and will get their daughter home. Later, Hope gets a call from Brenda, who says this is Hope's fault and on her head if Ciara dies. Philip convinces Melanie he's not with her as a rebound, but because he truly cares about her. They ultimately wind up in a sleazy motel room, where they make the best of things and, eventually, make passionate love. Meanwhile, Stephanie puts ice on Nathan's bruises. Nathan likewise tends to her psychological wounds, aware how upset she is over what happened with Philip. Stephanie tries hard to put Philip behind her, and tonight's beating of Nathan having been the final straw. Later, Stephanie's shocked when Victor comes upon her with Nathan and accuses her of two-timing Philip while getting him to renounce his family. When Victor also tells her Ciara's been kidnapped and Philip doesn't know, Stephanie realizes she has to try to find him. Brady contemplates calling the police over the cocaine he found on the floor at the Brady Pub, but Arianna convinces him it would do more harm than good. Brady talks a little bit about being an addict and the temptation he faces every day. He pours out the cocaine. Brady receives a text about a family emergency and leaves as Arianna places a call to Bob, and asks him to get her another delivery.
