Victor tells Daniel he can't help him pursue an investigation against Kate, but he has set some things in motion to keep Daniel out of jail. Daniel, realizing he is on his own, tries to see Chloe but is stopped by Nurse Maxine. She explains he's not allowed in Chloe's room, or even in the hospital. Intense Daniel convinces her to let him examine Chloe as he feels he can save her life. Lexie, however, throws him out before he can do so having no choice as the D.A. sent a cop to keep Daniel away from Chloe. Daniel later waylays Lexie, tells her he needs her help. The D.A. removes Bo and Hope from Daniel's case. Victor asks them to find evidence to clear Daniel. They explain they've been removed from the case, can't help. Fuming Victor reveals he's sent for someone who can help. Suddenly, there's a knock on the door. Bo and Hope are shocked to see... Justin Kiriakis! Maggie tells Kate that Chloe's tests showed brief brain activity and Chloe said Daniel's name. Freaked, Kate asks Lexie if Chloe is going to recover, but Lexie explains the brain activity is normal for someone who is slowly dying. Kate's relief is short-lived when D.A. Woods tells her Daniel is out on bail. Later, Kate reassures Lucas that Daniel won't be out on bail for long. Lucas confronts Maggie about lying to him about Chloe and Daniel's affair. He fires her as his AA sponsor which deeply upsets Maggie. Rafe and Arianna discuss whether he should tell Sami the truth about Emily's accident. Arianna doesn't want to see Rafe suffer because of what happened. Rafe feels telling Sami the truth will only make things worse. Rafe loves Sami and doesn't want to leave her, but feels he has no choice but to keep quiet. Arianna tells him if he walks away now, his relationship with Sami will be over for good. Meanwhile, Sami tells Lucas about Rafe's past. Lucas, still reacting off his own hurt and betrayal over Chloe and Daniel, believes Rafe is a killer. He advises Sami to dump Rafe before she endangers her kids' lives let alone her own. When Rafe returns to Sami, she tells him she'll never question him about his past again if he tells her the accident was only that: an accident.
