Victor probes as to why Hope is upset. She doesn't reveal Carly's whereabouts but does fish a bit about Carly and Bo's history. Later, Justin tries to reassure Hope that Carly isn't capable of cold-blooded murder, but we see that Hope remains worried about Bo. She and Justin part ways, and Hope makes a mysterious phone call. Meanwhile, Carly frets that Hope will give her away, but Bo promises that Carly can trust Hope and that he will keep her safe. Carly is assuaged but then has a nightmare that Lawrence is in the house and that he stabs Bo. Bo comforts Carly after her nightmare, and she realizes she is putting Bo in terrible danger and can't stay. She throws open the door and finds the feds there. They arrest her on the spot. Sami helps Rafe hide from Nicole. Rafe overhears their conversation and grows more convinced than ever that Sydney is Sami's child. Nicole leaves Sydney in Sami's care. Sydney helps bond Sami and Rafe in the same way that Grace did. Sami tries to ask Rafe why no one can know he's back in Salem, but he asks her to trust him and says all will be revealed very soon. He leaves. Later, Rafe is sending off the DNA samples to his FBI friend. Arianna asks if he's considered that his actions may send Sami into EJ's arms. Meanwhile, Sami has to go to the DiMera mansion with Sydney to pick up Johnny. Sami and EJ reach a new understanding, with EJ acknowledging that he can't seem to stay mad at her. Arianna is crying on the pier when EJ offers her a handkerchief. She refuses it. EJ is taken in by both her spunk and sensitivity as, unbeknownst to her, he gets to know more about his new employee. Brady sees Melanie before her date with Nathan and acknowledges things went badly with Arianna. He runs into Nicole, who tells Brady that she meant every word she said when she asked for his help. Nathan and Melanie are about to make love when he's summoned to the hospital on an emergency. Melanie is dismayed when she has fantasies of Philip and wonders what's wrong with her. Earlier, Philip and Justin talk, and Philip says he will make his move when the time is right.
