Chloe announces that the pregnancy test is defective. She doesn't know whether she's pregnant or not. She agrees to get a new pregnancy kit when Daniel calls to tell Kate about Philip. Kate and Lucas go to the hospital to see him. Kate thinks Daniel saved her son's life, but Daniel informs her Nicole is the one who told the police Tony's death was an accident. Chloe discovers she's not pregnant. Lucas tells Kate, who's relieved that she doesn't have to protect Daniel or Chloe. Later, Chloe agrees to take the Hearth & Home job. Melanie enters to Max and Chelsea, loaded down with shopping bags. Melanie spent all the money Tony gave her for the fuels project. Max and Chelsea tell her that Tony is dead and that Philip has been injured. She rushes to the hospital to see Philip where Stephanie tells her the fuels project died with Tony. Meanwhile, Chelsea and Max fight over Melanie and her responsibility in Tony's death. When Melanie returns, Chelsea makes her realize her responsibility in Tony's death. After Melanie leaves, Max and Chelsea realize life is too short to fight. Stephanie rushes to the hospital to see Philip, absolutely believing Tony's death was an accident. Philip, however, still struggles with his guilt. She takes him back to her place where he has a nightmare of his fight with Tony. Stefano confronts Nicole about lying to EJ about her secret trip to the convent, again. Getting EJ alone, Nicole asks him if he believes she told the truth about the convent. EJ says he believes her; however, he harbors anger over Tony's death which is somewhat directed towards her. Nicole thinks they should call off the wedding. EJ shocks Nicole by agreeing. He's tired of her threats. But the bottom line is he's very upset that she protected Philip. Meanwhile, Stefano opens the door to a furious Anna who blames him for Tony's death. She's taking Tony's ashes, knowing she has peace and Stefano doesn't. Alone, Stefano vows to get revenge on the Kiriakis family.
