EJ and Sami continue to fight over their differences about Nicole. Appalled that EJ won't help Nicole keep Sydney, Sami tells EJ that Sydney is better off without him. EJ throws her out of the mansion and goes to the hospital where he is startled to find Lexie babysitting Sydney. EJ drops off the baby with Mary, and talks to Lexie about his conflicted feelings. Lexie is sympathetic when is comes to EJ banishing Sydney and Nicole, but confirms to EJ that she's afraid EJ would never be able to keep the baby even if he wanted to. Later, a grieving EJ tells an unconscious Stefano he knows he has to let go of his daughter. Nicole tries every trick in the book to persuade Chad to give up gaining custody of Sydney. When all else fails, she tries to seduce him and tells him there's a way they can both get what they want. Mia and Will ask Sami to help Mia with the custody situation. Sami is empathetic and makes sure that Mia doesn't have any second thoughts about giving up her child. Mia explains that Nicole keeping Sydney is best for her baby, and that Chad isn't responsible enough to have her. Touched, Sami tells Mia she'll do whatever she can to help. Arianna gives in to her feelings from the kiss with Brady, and finally admits she never wanted to break up with him. She remains cryptic about why she did it, but alludes to her troubled past. She tells Brady if they resume dating, they can't tell anyone and Brady agrees. Unfortunately, Victor comes home and spots them kissing. When Arianna leaves, Victor makes his presence known, but keeps what he saw to himself. Earlier, Victor stops in Stefano's room, where Lexie is startled to find him. While Lexie presses for him to leave immediately, Victor makes it clear that he wishes Stefano good health, nothing more. Melanie and Nathan deny rumors about their relationship at work as they prepare for a date. They are keeping their relationship on the down low at work and after a lecture from Maggie on household rules, are forced to do so at home as well. Nathan is sure they can find some creative workarounds. Melanie comes up with an offbeat idea for their date later that night.
