Lucas continues his confrontation in jail with Daniel, refusing to believe Daniel's assertion that Kate poisoned Chloe while also framing Daniel. Lucas accuses Daniel of trying to frame Kate. Daniel beseeches Lucas to keep Kate away from Chloe. After Lucas accuses Daniel of preying on Chloe and Kate, Daniel reveals to Lucas that Chloe loved him and they were going to tell Lucas before Chloe collapsed. Daniel promises that when Chloe wakes up, they will be together. Kate thinks Victor wants her out of his house. When Brady comes home and questions, Victor covers for Kate and tells her he'd like her to stay. Later, Kate goes to a comatose Chloe and chastises her for ruining everything. Shocked by her own words, Kate realizes she's in love with Daniel. Brady and Nicole bond over Chloe. Brady becomes twigged when he learns from Nicole that Chloe did love Daniel. Nicole says she wouldn't trust Kate in all this. When he returns home, Brady becomes confused when Victor refuses to answer any of his questions about Kate. Sami learns about Chloe and reacts to the fragility of life. Rafe comforts her and helps her comfort Allie about Chloe. They bond even more, never happier, as Stefano convinces Meredith she has to tell Sami all about Rafe and how he killed Meredith's sister. Later, Nicole questions Stefano if he was the reason Sami was so miserable earlier. She tries to call Stefano off of Rafe, but it's too late. Stefano tells her if she wants one thing, she has to give up another and there's no going back.
