Lexie pronounces Chloe dead, but Chloe's heart starts up again much to Daniel's joy, and Kate's private upset. Kate calms down when Lexie tells her Chloe is in a coma and they don't know when, or if she'll come out of it. Philip joins Kate as he reels over Chloe's condition. Kate "defends" Daniel to Maggie, who's impressed by Kate's support of him. Kate sends Philip to track down Lucas. Meanwhile, Bo and Hope question Daniel, who is stunned that they consider him a suspect. Hope reveals the pharmacist described Daniel as the person who picked up the toxic drug and shows him the signature on the prescription note. Daniel cannot deny it's his signature, but insists he didn't write it. He remembers that Lucas was in his apartment and could've planted the drug if he found out about Daniel and Chloe's affair. As Hope and Bo continue to ask him about the poison, Daniel recalls precise moments that make him realize that Kate was responsible for poisoning Chloe. He and Kate lock eyes. Nicole, worried off her meeting with Chad, leaves a fraught message for Mia to call her to let her know if Chad's backed off about Mia's past. Nicole overreacts to finding Sydney alone, and wants Mary fired. EJ is surprised by Nicole's unusual over protectiveness and she distracts him by seducing him. After they make love, EJ catches her glancing at her cell, waiting for Mia's call. Nicole covers, but EJ doesn't believe her excuse and asks for the truth. Philip tells Brady about the Melanie debacle. Both agree they're not cut out to be hermits, but don't look forward to the pain relationships cause them. Brady walks in on a fight between Melanie and Stephanie after Stephanie accused Melanie of sleeping with Philip. Through Brady's intercession Stephanie realizes Melanie didn't sleep with him. They share a tearful apology. Melanie gets call into work and tells Brady that Chloe was poisoned. Meanwhile, Philip returns to the mansion and opens the door to Stephanie, who's looking to talk.
