Sami and Nicole unexpectedly meet in the park. Sami gives Nicole all the credit for convincing EJ to let her share custody of Johnny. Feeling guilty, Nicole accidentally admits they both lost their baby girls, but then covers by explaining about Sydney's near death experience. As the two women bond over the loss of Grace, Sami asks Nicole if they can call a truce. Nicole agrees and Rafe enters on their emotional bonding. While Sami attends to Johnny and Allie, Rafe questions Nicole about her attachment to Grace. Nicole gets defensive and quickly leaves. She returns to the DiMera mansion where she reminds Stefano of his promise to take care of Rafe. Stefano assures her he has put a plan in motion to drive a wedge between Samantha and Rafe. Brady tells Victor about Arianna. Victor thinks she's a fool for not seeing Brady's worth. Touched, Brady leaves as Caroline enters, wondering why Victor wasn't at Ciara's birthday party the day before. Victor admits he didn't want to run into Caroline. It pains him they don't share a life together, and that he's not worthy of her. Caroline says they share a son and grandchildren. He did something right. Arianna learns that Rafe has moved in with Sami. She explains that she was interested in a guy, but decided not to pursue him when she learned he was a recovering addict. Rafe is concerned for Arianna as he references the past, but he still hopes she will find someone. Later, Arianna sees Melanie, who's upset with Arianna for rejecting Brady. Arianna points out that Brady is a recovering addict, but Melanie realizes that she still cares for him. Melanie informs Brady, who appears uninterested. Meanwhile, Arianna makes a mysterious phone call saying she got the job as manager of the Brady pub. When she hangs up, she locks eyes with Brady. Nathan realizes Melanie plans on cheating on her nursing test. He's angry and Melanie sees how passionate he is about medicine. Nathan tells her she can take the test without cheating, or not take the test at all. Melanie takes the test, without cheating, and learns she passed. She and Nathan agree to go out to dinner.
