While Sami sends Sister Theresa out to find out what happened to her baby, Nicole explains to a shocked Dr. Baker that she wants to switch Sami's and Mia's babies. Nicole is passionate about wanting EJ to raise his own flesh and blood. Baker refuses just as Sister Theresa almost walks in on them, and Nicole reminds Baker that he's in too deep to deny her request. Her emotional plea about wanting Sami's little girl and Sami's decision to never tell EJ the truth about their child's paternity, finally convinces Baker to make the switch. Nicole promises Sami's baby that she will know nothing but love and happiness. Unaware to Nicole, EJ has returned early from his business trip and is searching for her. Meanwhile, Dr. Baker gives Sami Mia's baby. Sami stares at the baby's face, enigmatic. Maggie finds the killer on the pier, and calls for help. At the hospital, Kayla realizes the killer will need surgery and pages Daniel, and also sends Maggie to grab Joe's toy from her home. At the loft, Rafe's unable to walk, and reaches for his cell to warn Sami, but the phone is dead. Back at the hospital, Kayla examines the killer, and realizes he looks familiar. Chloe wants to talk to Daniel about how they can move on without missing one another. Daniel suggests they keep their distance, which Chloe knows is difficult since Daniel is Kate's doctor and Chloe is engaged to Lucas. Daniel thinks that time will eventually cure them of their love/passion but admits he doesn't really believe that. They end up passionately making love. Afterward, Daniel is paged by the hospital and as he and Chloe hurriedly leave his apartment, Chloe realizes Maggie has seen them kiss. Steve meets with Bo and Hope to discuss that he might have a lead on Marino's killer. He hacked into Stefano's computer and found a corporation holding thousands of dollars, and funds have been transfer to a branch in Salem. Bo and Hope realize Stefano may be using this corporation to pay for the killer. Steve states he wants to look into it more, and gets a text from Kayla. Suddenly, Bo has a flash to Hope shooting...Kayla! He confides in Steve who agrees the two women must be separated until this is figured out. They stop Hope from meeting with Kayla, and Bo insists to Hope they spend the night working on the investigation.
