Brady arrives at the DiMera mansion to find EJ worried about Nicole's disappearance. Brady takes off and finds Nicole stuck in her car. She explains to Brady about the pregnant woman and needing to meet her at the clinic. When Nicole and Brady arrive at the clinic, Dr. Baker tells her the mother changed her mind and left. Nicole returns to the DiMera mansion and is ready to confess everything when EJ confesses his love for her and proposes marriage. Melanie whispers in Philip's ear, but to Stephanie, it looks like Melanie is kissing him. She joins them, and asks if she's missing something. Philip confirms, and sweeps Stephanie into a passionate kiss. Stephanie wonders if Philip kissed her to make a point with Melanie. Philip insists the kiss was real. Stephanie pretends not to believe him, and insists he kiss her again just to make sure which he gladly accepts. Meanwhile, Melanie is upset that the evening didn't go the way she planned in seducing Philip. Daniel and Chloe almost kiss, but are interrupted by Daniel's cell phone. He takes Chloe to the hospital where he tells a worried Kate and Lucas that Chloe suffered a sprained ankle. Lucas takes Chloe back to Chez Rouge to celebrate New Year's and they share a romantic kiss. Sami is not happy to be celebrating New Year's with Rafe instead of her family. The two reach a mutual understanding, however, with Rafe putting Sami on notice that he knows she's still planning to find a way to leave her baby with Sister Theresa. As the two get ready for bed, Rafe tells Sami that he's happy to spend New Year's with her. Privately, Sami worries about her kids...and EJ.
