Melanie wants the fuels project documents from Max, but he won't budge. He won't let his little sister get caught up in a war between the Kiriakises and DiMeras. Melanie, not wanting to alienate her brother, manages to look over the documents before Max catches her red handed. When she shows up at EJ's, Melanie writes down the blue prints using her photographic memory. EJ is impressed, but wary. Melanie wants to screw Philip over, but also wants a cash advance. EJ intends to have his people check her "work" before a payday. Philip breaks the news to Brady and Stephanie that Melanie has been fired. Brady thinks Philip could've handled the situation more diplomatically, and Stephanie lays into Philip saying he's not the man she thought she was falling in love with. Philip guesses he's not. He tells her whether she wants to admit it or not, she likes the bad guy image. Stephanie blushes, but holds her ground as Philip invites her to lunch. Stephanie declines, but the two happen to run into each other at the Brady pub. Philip apologizes for acting like a jerk, and proposes to start over with their relationship. Stephanie agrees, but when Melanie shows up in a pleasantly good mood after her meeting with EJ, it leaves Philip thinking she's up to something. EJ sets his and Nicole's wedding date without consulting her. This doesn't sit well with Nicole, and EJ encourages her to take 10k and put a deposit on a dress. However, Nicole calls up Brady and pays him back the money she borrowed from him. He asks if she paid off Dr. Baker and she confirms, but is worried he's coming back for more. Nicole admits she's made some horrible choices in this whole ordeal. She thanks Brady for all of his help, but can't keep him involved any longer and runs off. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, Brady tracks down Dr. Baker and threatens him to stay away from Nicole. Meanwhile, when Nicole goes home, EJ apologizes and they kiss and make up. Alone, Nicole receives a call from birth mama Mia asking about "her" baby. Rafe is holding baby Grace and she begins to cry. Sami rushes in and gets Grace to stop, but Sami becomes emotionally affected and misses her other children. Rafe flirts with the idea that Sami could end this, and take her home with one phone call to EJ. Sami considers, but ultimately decides that she's gone so far to hide Grace from the DiMeras, and she can't give in now. Later, Sami learns from the paper that she and Nicole gave birth on the same day. She continues to read that Nicole and EJ have picked a day to marry and tells her baby that she has half the mind to show up and stop the wedding, but she won't because protecting Grace is her number one priority.
