At the Fairview clinic, Rafe meets up with a nurse, who used to work there and appeals to her to help him find information on Nicole. Rafe explains that Nicole and he used to be involved, and the nurse reluctantly agrees to help him. They manage to get one of the clinic's computers working and find Nicole's files, but find nothing but codes. The nurse determines from the codes that early on there was a complication with the baby and then Nicole gave birth. Rafe shows the nurse a picture of Nicole, but she doesn't recognize her. He then shows her a picture of EJ, and she remembers him. Rafe wants to know if EJ was there the night Nicole gave birth. The nurse is no help. However, the nurse catches a glimpse of Sami's picture on Rafe's PDA and says she remembers that woman gave birth the night EJ was there. Rafe is stunned to learn that Sami and Nicole both gave birth at Dr. Baker's clinic. In a move to protect Sydney, EJ wants to do complete genetic and DNA type testing on Sydney and the family. Nicole overhears and freaks out. She tells EJ no, but he insists. She asks where this is coming from and EJ explains he feels horrible for what Bo and Hope are going through with Ciara's kidnapping. A lot stems from his not knowing Grace. If he had been in her life, he might have been able to save her. Nicole argues, but EJ won't take no for an answer and sets up the testing. Stefano assures Nicole that no will ever learn that Sydney really belongs to Sami Brady. Earlier, Nicole worries that Rafe said something to Arianna about her. Nicole tries to get Arianna to spill, but Arianna covers for Rafe. Alone, Nicole is not convinced. Philip wonders if Melanie will tell Stephanie the truth about his sleeping with her, especially after she learns Philip and Stephanie are heading towards reconciliation. Melanie lays into Stephanie and Stephanie thinks it's about Nathan. Later, Melanie confides in Arianna who urges her to go for Philip if she loves him. Meanwhile, Stephanie is worried about Melanie, and ironically, so is Philip. He calls Melanie back to the mansion and she promises to keep the secret. Unbeknownst to Philip and Melanie, the manager from the sleazy motel taped them making love and has plans of his own in the form of adult entertainment. When Bo takes over the decisions in trying to find Ciara, Hope reacts and warns Bo if they lose Ciara, they won't survive it. Also, Dean hatches a new plan after his team nearly throws in the towel.
