Someone removes Marlena's oxygen mask and she begins breathing in the mysterious colored vapor. Marlena is confronted by Stefano. Steve quickly finds an oxygen mask for baby Joe. Kayla enters and begins coughing violently. She passes out from the fumes. Everyone is coughing from exposure to the vapors, except for John. John is alerted and threatens that Stefano will not get away with this. Later, they discover Stefano has disappeared. Sami sees Stefano who tells her he has no intention of hurting her - if she listens to him. Stefano tells Sami he hopes Giovanni is only the first of many more DiMera heirs. Sami tells Stefano to go to hell.
